菊花展鉢数約1,200鉢が飾られる一大イベントで、全国から観光客が訪れる山形の秋の風物詩の一つ。会場の双松公園が、菊の花でできた菊人形や菊花展で彩られ、会場周辺では、菊と市民の仮装パレードも行われる。

One of the autumn traditional festivities with over 1200 chrysanthemum pots decorated at the event, where many tourists come from all over the country to enjoy. Sosho Park is filled with Kiku dolls which are decorated with chrysanthemums and chrysanthemum exhibits, and parades of chrysanthemum costumed citizens walk around the grounds.
