能代には古くから続く、伝統的な夏の七夕行事があります。
太鼓、笛、田楽と呼ばれる長方形の灯籠を子供達が頭に乗せ、巨大な鯱を冠した城郭型の灯籠を引き回し、まち中を練り歩きます。

There is a traditional Summer Tanabata event since ancient times in Noshiro.
With a Taiko, Fue, and Dengaku, rectangular lanterns that the children put on their heads, they bring out the huge castle shaped lantern floats with a model of a killer whales on top, which parade through the town.
