立佞武多は、今から約1世紀前の明治中期から大正初期にかけて行われた当市の伝統民俗です。現在の立佞武多は1枚の写真を元に、五所川原の有志たちにより、高さ20メートル強のねぷたを復元させたものです。
高さ22メートル、総重量16トンの立佞武多が30人の若者により曳かれます。

Tachineputa is a traditional festival from Goshogawara which began around a century ago in the Mid-Meiji period until the start of the Taisho period.
At 72 feet, the tachineputa floats weigh around 16 tons and have to be carried by at least 30 young men.
