｢古川まつり｣は昭和22年から開催されている古川最大の夏まつり。美しい吹流しが大通りになびく七夕まつり、神輿行列やふるかわ踊り、ふるかわ太鼓が街を練り歩き、各商店街でも多彩な行事が行われます｡七夕飾りの飾られた通りに、テント張りの出店が多数出展されます。前日の夜に花火大会があります。

Furukawa Festival is Furukawa’s largest summer festival which began in 1947. There are beautiful flowing Tanabata Star Festival displays, portable shrines with Furukawa dancers and drummers who parade through the city, and a variety of events inside the mall. There is also a large fireworks display in the evening of the final day.
