山形の人々が心から愛する秋の風物詩となっている恒例行事。イベントで作られる芋煮は、直径6mの大鍋に里芋3トン、牛肉1.2トン、こんにゃく3,500枚、ねぎ3,500本、味付け醤油700リットル、隠し味に日本酒50升、砂糖200kg、山形の水6トンを入れ、6トンの薪で煮炊きし、日本一のスケールを誇る。

It is an event held periodically and a seasonal tradition that the people of Yamagata love. The famous Imoni for the event is prepared in a 6 m diameter pan, with 3 tons of taro potatoes, 1.2 tons of beef, 3,500 pieces of konjac, 3,500 green onion, 700 liters of soy sauce, 200 kg of sugar, 50 bottles of sake as an secret ingredient, 6 tons of natural Yamagata water, 6 tons of wood for fuel, one of the largest scale food events in Japan.
