桜区にある田島ケ原のサクラソウは昭和２７年に国の特別天然記念物に指定され、この開花時期に合わせて「さいたま市役所」と「さくら草公園」の2会場で毎年「さくら草まつり」を開催している。期間中はダンスパフォーマンスや講演会が開かれている。

The Sakurasou in Tajimagahara Sakura-ku was registered as a Special Natural Monument in 1952. And an annual festival is held at Sakurakusa Park and Saitama City Office during the season the flowers bloom. Dance performances and talk shows are performed during the event.
