鹿野山のはしご獅子舞

毎年4月28日の白鳥神社の祭礼に社前の広場で奉納される。2人で演ずる1匹の獅子が、高さ約10m、25段の大きなはしごの上で舞うという、手に汗握る獅子舞である。鹿野山の牝獅子が奥高野に住む牡獅子に恋焦がれ、断崖に見立てたはしごの上で舞い狂う様子を表わしている。
The festival is dedicated annually on April 28 at the Shirotori Shrine. 2 people act the one Shishi on a 10 meter tall, 25 step ladder. The dance is performed on the ladder. The female Shishi of Mount Kano falls in love with the male Shishi deep in Okukoya, and the dance represents the dance performed by the shishi on top of the cliff.
