八朔祭とは旧暦8月1日のことで、この時期は稲の結実期で、まさに成熟しよとする田面の災害の無いように祈る祭り。
8月31日午後10時、蜂子神社で例祭が行われている中、秋峰の修行者達が蜂子皇子に修行の報告を行った後、社前の護摩壇に積まれた柴燈木に火を放つ。
