「商売繁盛・五穀豊穣・無病息災」を祈り毎年裸の若衆が寒風の中、ふかしたもち米が入っているつつこを激しく引き合う勇壮な祭りとして、市の無形民俗文化財に指定されています。また、福島県の10大奇祭にも選ばれています。

This is the festival where people pray for business prosperity, harvest richness and free of disease. It is designated as brave festival that is an intangible folk cultural property of the city in which the naked young crowd aggressively pull the big straw bag, which packs glutinous rice in the freezing wind every year. In addition, the festival is chosen as one of the 10 unique festivals in Fukushima Prefecture.
