天神獅子舞は、大きくて重い獅子頭、弓形の竹を張った長い胴幕のムカデのような形をした「百足獅子」が特徴です！26の町内から繰り出される獅子舞が、勇壮に街中を舞い踊り、夜には町内引きが行われ、別名「獅子舞盆」と言われています。観音寺・福町新明宮には順次踊りが奉納され、町内ごとの踊りや音色を楽しむこともできます

Characteristics of Tenjin Shishimai are big and heavy lion head and "Mukade Shishi" meaning centipede-like lion because arched bamboos inside of the long body make Shishimai look like a centipede! Shishimai from 26 towns dance bravely through the towns, and a town hiki takes place at night. This festival is also called the "Shishimai-bon". Dances are dedicated to Kannonji Temple and Fukumachi Shinmeigu Shrine in order, and each town's dances and sounds are very enjoyable.
