高岡七夕まつりでは高岡駅前通り一帯が、高さ約20ｍのジャンボ七夕や市民が手づくりで参加するマイ七夕をはじめ、たくさんの七夕で彩られます。青竹に赤い提灯を飾る七夕は、夜になると数々の短冊や吹流しとともに幻想的な雰囲気を演出します。広く市民に親しまれている七夕は、色とりどりの願い短冊や飾り、吹流し、提灯が下げられ、風になびく光景は高岡の夏の風物詩となっています。中心商店街一帯で民謡町流しなど色々なイベントが開催されます。

A 65-foot-tall Tanabata decoration is the first thing you see when you get to Takaoka Station, followed by lots of other decorations. The red lanterns on blue bamboo with the strips of Tanabata paper hanging off them creates an amazing atmosphere at night.
