石崎奉燈祭は石崎八幡神社の納涼祭が度重なる大火が原因で、奥能登より古い「キリコ」を移入して始めたものです。
ねじり鉢巻に地下足袋を履き、きつく締めたサラシにお守りを携えた男達とそれを見守る女達、どこからともなく聞こえる祭囃子が祭り気分を盛り上げます。
町中には「サッカサイ、サカサッサイ、イヤサカサー」と威勢のいい掛け声が響き渡る中、奉燈１基を１００人程で担進む様はまさに圧巻です。夜には奉燈に灯火が献じられ、浮かび上がった武者絵や大書の墨字が幻想的な空間を醸し出します。

Due to the summer festival causing a number of large fires in the Ishizaki Hachiman Shrine, the Issaki Houto Festival moved to using old kiriko lantern floats from Oku-Noto.
The best part is when the people chant “sakkasai, sakasassai, iyasakasa” in loud voices, a spectacular sight when each lantern float is carried by about 100 people. In the evening the lanterns are lit, creating a fantastic scene as the images of warriors and large Japanese writings on the lanterns are made even clearer.
