岩瀬曳山車祭は、岩瀬諏訪神社の春季例大祭として開催され、13基の曳山車（ひきやま）が勇壮に町を練り歩きます。山車本体の上の「たてもん」とよばれる飾りのコンクールもあり、商売繁盛や時事ネタなど、各山車が毎年趣向を凝らしているのも見どころです。夜には祭りは最高潮となり、山車どうしが激しくぶつかり合い、互いの力を比べる曳き合いが行われます。この曳き合いの激しさから「けんか山車」という異名でも親しまれる、歴史と伝統のある祭りです。

Iwase Hikiyama Festival is annual spring grand festival held at Iwase Suwa Shrine, and 13 Hikiyama floats parade bravely through the town. There is a contest of "Tatemon", the decorating of the upper parts on top of the main float bodies, and it is fun to watch floats with various ideas applied every year such as prosperous business and current affairs topics. The festival reaches the climax at night, Hikiai takes place for floats clashing to each other aggressively to compare their powers. This historical and traditional festival is also known as "Kenka Dashi" (Fighting Floats) because of the intensity of Hikiai.
