越中の小京都城端。目に飛び込む豪華絢爛な山、そして優調な庵の音、美しい城端の祭りは見る人の心を魅了します。
300年の伝統を誇る優雅な祭り。 精緻な彫りと塗りが施され、御神像を乗せた6台の山車が町中を練り歩きます。 京都祇園の一力茶屋などを模した精巧な「庵屋台」がそれぞれの山車を先導し、その中では、笛、三味線の音色にのせて 江戸端唄の流れをくむ城端独特の「庵唄」が唄われます。

Johana is little Kyoto in Ecchu. Gorgeous mountains come into sight and Johana's festival appeal strongly to spectators.
This traditional elegant festival has a history of 300 years. 6 floats are applied elaborated carvings and coatings and parade through the town while carrying statues of gods. "Iori Yatai" floats are modeled intricately after Ichirikijaya in Gion, Kyoto, and each floats are led by "Iori Yatai" floats where Johana's characteristic "Iori uta" which is descended from Edo Hauta, is sang inside with flutes and shamisen.
