福光春季例大祭は約２００年以上前から行われていますが、文献によると「再興後」であり、かなり以前から伝わる由緒ある行事です。１９０１年から厄年男性が奉仕するようになり、御神輿担ぎは、福光地区住民の神聖な奉仕として、現在まで受け継がれています。御神輿の重さは、約１トン。２５、４２、６１らの厄年男性が丸１日かけて約１１kmを巡幸。４月中旬の開催とあって、小矢部川沿いを彩る満開の桜並木を進む姿が見所の一つです。
Fukumitsu Spring Annual Grand Festival stared over 200 years ago, but the literature says it's "after the renaissance" and seems to be a very old and traditional event. Men in unlucky years have served the festival since 1901, Mikoshi carrying is inherited as sacred service to people in Fukumitsu district until this day. Mikoshi weighs about 1 ton. Men in unlucky years, 25, 42, and 61 years old, progress for 11 km taking one whole day. This festival is held in the middle of April, one of the highlights is to see them progressing in the beautifully full bloomed cherry blossoms along with Oyabe River.
