大聖寺藩祖前田利治公を慕い、世界の名陶「古九谷」発祥の地として、産業の発展を祈る祭りとして受け継がれています。
メイン行事は「古九谷大皿みこし」の練り歩きで、直径2.1ﾒｰﾄﾙの大皿を乗せた重さ約2.5ﾄﾝの古九谷みこしを繰り出し、約300人の男衆が「ソイヤ、ソイヤ」の掛け声も勇ましく、目抜き通りを練り歩きます。厄年の男性が中心となって担ぐ、厄払いのみこしでもあります。
またその他にも、花火大会、民謡祭、輪踊り、など盛りだくさんの催しが行われます。

Yearning for Maeda Toshiharu, the lord of Daishouji-han, and being the founding place for Kokutani, the festival continues the tradition for praying for a prosperous industry.
The main event is the parading of the Kokutaniozara Mikoshi, where a 2.1 diameter large plate is on the 2.5 ton Kokutani Mikoshi, with about 300 men parading with while singing "soiya soiya". It is put on by mainly men that are in their unlucky years, and there is even a Mikoshi to ward away bad luck.
And besides this, there are also firework shows, folk song festivals, Wa dance, and many other events are held.
