400年近い伝統を持つ、山口の晩秋を彩る山口三大祭りの一つです。参勤交代を再現した備立［そなえたて］行列が市内を練り歩きます。菅原道真を祭る古熊神社は本殿、拝殿ともに国指定重要文化財に指定されています。

It is one of the Three Grand Yamaguchi Festivals to colorize the late fall of Yamaguchi and has a history of almost 400 years. "Sonaetate" processions which revive the Sankin Kotai parade throughout the city. The inner shrine and front shrine of Fukuruma Shrine which deify Michizane Sugawara are registered as a National Important Cultural Properties.
