桜の名所舞鶴山を中心に行われる天童市の春の風物詩。期間中、各会場で様々な催しが行われ、１７日には天童花駒踊りフェスティバルや子ども将棋大会。
そして、23日・24日にはこの祭りの名物となっている人間将棋が行われる。

An event that reminds us all of spring, held at Mount Maizuru, known for its cherry blossom trees. During the festival, many events are held such as Tendo Hanagoma dance festival and kids Shogi competition on 17th.
The famous Human Shogi event is held on the 23rd and 24th.
