尾島ねぷたまつりは、青森県弘前市と太田市との歴史的なつながりにより昭和61年から始まりました。
まつりの最大の見所は、ねぷた運行で、「ヤーヤドー」の掛け声とともに十数台のねぷたが会場を練り歩き、高さ7メートルにもおよぶ扇ねぷたとねぷた太鼓の隊列は勇壮そのものです。まつりの最高潮に行われるねぷた太鼓とまつり囃子の大合奏まで目が離せません。
まつり当日は、おおた物産市で特産品の販売、津軽物産市として青森県弘前市の特産品の販売も行われます。

The most spectacular part of this festival is the neputa float parade. While everyone shouts “Ya-yado“ tens of neputa floats, including 23 feet high fan neputa with drums parading around bravely. Until the climax of the festival which is neputa drums and Hayashi flutes ensemble, you cannot take your eyes off these drumming accompaniments.
