東金ばやしは日吉神社の夏の大祭の時に、旧東金9地区から出る豪華絢爛な山車屋台の上で演奏される。お囃子のグループ「下座連」は、「地方」と呼ばれる11名前後の奏者で構成されている。
楽器は横笛・締太鼓・三味線・大鼓・小鼓・大胴などを使用する。曲目は「四丁目」「通り囃子」「馬鹿囃子」のほか押堀だけに伝承される「雷囃子」がある。「四丁目」「通り囃子」は長唄囃子の調子を取り入れたもので、特に「四丁目」は4曲中最も格調たかいものとされている。
Tougane Bayashi is Hiyoshi Shrine’s largest summer festival, with gorgeous floats from the 9 districts of that used to be Tougane. The accompanying music groups sitting in the floats consist of around 11 players. They play instruments such as flute, different types of drums, shamisen, and large trunks.
