国の重要無形民俗文化財に指定され、約300年の歴史と伝統を持つお祭り。関東三大山車祭りの一つと称される。秋祭りでは、小野川の西側一帯を14台の山車が曳き廻される。日本三大囃子「佐原囃子」の音を町中に響かせながら町を進む山車の姿は風情たっぷり。

Registered as National Significant Intangible Folk Cultural Asset, this festival has 300 years of history and tradition. This is the one of the Three Grand Kanto Dashi Float Festivals. 14 Dashi floats are drawn west side of Ono River in autumn festival. It is very tasteful to see floats parading through the town with echoing "Sawara Bayashi" which is one of Japanese 3 Grand Hayashi (festival music).
