毎年、1月14日から15日の未明にかけて、千葉県袖ケ浦市の飽富神社で行われる神事。粥の中に葦の筒を投げ込み、筒の中に詰まった粥の量によってその年の農作物の豊凶を占う。お粥には、15日の午前0時頃に、地区の若者たちが裸になって水を浴び身を清めた上で、檜の板と棒をこすり合わせて起こした火を用いる。

A Shinto ritual held in Akitomi Shrine (Sodegaura City, Chiba Prefecture) from January 14 to dawn of 15. There is a tradition of showing in a reed pipe into rice gruel, and it is said depending on the amount of gruel stuck in the reed, they can predict how harvest will be for that year. For the rice gruel, at midnight on the 15th, the young from the area become naked and bathe in the water to purify themselves, then they rub a stick in a cedar plank to create fire to use for cooking.
