五穀豊穣を祈るお田植え祭りである。参拝者と田人、牛役が雨に見立てた砂を掛け合う庭上の儀があります。
庭上の儀には、砂を盛んにかけ合うほど、田植えの時期に雨がよく降り、豊作になるとされ、奇祭として有名です。

It is a rice-planting festival to pray for a huge harvest of cereals. There is a garden ceremony where visitors, farmers, and the people acting parts of cows splash sands to liken to rain on each other.
It is famous as a strange festival and the garden ceremony means that more enthusiastically splashing sands, it rains more during the rice planting periods and brings good harvest.
