780年余の伝統を誇るお祭りで、別名「潮かけまつり」。
海の安全と大漁を祈願する神事の後、その名のとおり、海女や漁師が海水をかけ合ったり、海に投げ入れたりする変わった祭。希望すれば一般の方でも参加可能。
その、ステージイベントや花火大会、出店や太鼓の演奏も楽しめる。

This 780-year-old festival is also called the “Shio Kake Festival”, or “Tide Spraying Festival”.
After a ritual praying for large fish and safe seas, women divers and fishermen head to the sea where they throw buckets of sea water over each other. Anyone who wants to can participate.
You can also enjoy evening stage events and fireworks, with stalls and drum performances.
