その昔、この地方に流行病が発生した際、家々が難を逃れたという言い伝えから、厄除祈願として毎年例祭日にこの神社の杉の小枝を家々の門戸に吊り下げる習わしが続いています。お祭りの当日にはたくさんの露店が並び、多くの参拝者が浴衣で参拝することから「ゆかた祭り」の愛称で地元の方から親しまれています。

When there was an epidemic in this region in the olden days, the households were able to avoid the disease. Since that time, as an annual tradition, a small twig is taken from the cedar tree in the shrine grounds on the day of the festival to decorate on the entrance of homes as a charm to ward off evil and disease. Of the first day of the festival, many stalls line the streets, and many worshipers come in yukata, and hence it is also called the Yukata Festival by locals.
