毎年、赤穂義士たちが吉良邸に討ち入りを果たした12月14日に、まちをあげて行われるお祭りです。
メインイベントは大名行列や義士行列などの「忠臣蔵パレード」で、赤穂城跡大手門からJR播州赤穂駅に向かって約1.3kmの沿道を行進します。
討ち入り前日の12月13日には、花岳寺・大石神社で義士追慕の前夜祭が開催されます。

Every year, the festival is held on December 14 with the whole town, which is when the local Ako retainers raided the Kira mansion.
The main event is the Daimyo Gyoretsu and Gishi Gyoretsu, part of the Chushingura Pa-rade, and the parade goes from the Ako Castle Ruins main gate to the JR Banshu-Ako Station for 1.3 km along the road.
An eve festival for cherishing the memory of the raiders is held at Kagakuji Temple and Oishi Shrine on December 13, the night before the raid.
