七尾祇園祭は七尾市大地主神社（山王神社）の夏祭りです。厄除神、防疫神として全国に祇園信仰が興隆されたころ、京都祇園を能登に勧請して七尾祇園会を行ったのがこの祭りの起源です。
祭りでは氏子町内から大小１1基のキリコ奉灯が出され、５０人余りの若衆連にかつがれ笛、鐘、太鼓の囃子児が揃いの姿で乗り込み、奉燈の運行は赤タスキの指導者の合図で疾走、徐行、停止など太鼓の速度にあわせて調子をとります。
This is a summer festival held by the Nanao landowners Shrine, Sanno Shrine.
11 kiriko lantern floats parade around the town, with more than 50 young men carrying them, along with musical accompaniments of whistles, bells and drums. The leaders of the lantern processions can be recognized by their red sashes, and they direct the pace of the lanterns using the rhythms of their drums.
