「津山まつり」は東の津山城鬼門守護・大隅神社、津山城下総鎮守・徳守神社、西の美作二宮・高野神社の秋祭りの総称です。
「西の小京都」と呼ばれる美しい城下町をだんじりが練るコントラストは祭りのもう一つの見どころです。
「津山だんじり」は各町内で守り受け継いできた県指定重要有形民俗文化財のだんじりが徳守神社に20臺、大隅神社に７臺あり、飾り山車（だし）と呼ばれる昭和になって新造されただんじりと併せ約50臺のだんじりが、400年の歴史を持つ「津山まつり」を盛り上げます。

Tsuyama Festival is the generic name for the fall festivals for Higashino-Tsuyamajo Kimonshugo Osumi Shrine, Tsuyamajoka Sochinju Tokumori Shrine, and Nishino-Mimasakanomiya Takano Shrine.
The other highlight of the festival is the contrast that the danjiri parade has as it parades through the beautiful castle town referred to as Nishinoshokyoto.
The Tsuyama Danjiri is a danjiri that has been protected pass down by each of the town-ships, and is registered as a Prefectural Important Tangible Folk Cultural Asset. There are 20 danjiri floats at Tokumori Shrine, 7 at Osumi Shrine, and other decorated floats that were made after the beginning of the Showa period, all totaling about 50 floats. These floats of Tsuyama Festival with a history of 400 years liven up the venues.
