信州を代表する奇祭としても知られる伝統的な火祭り。
市の無形民俗文化財にも指定されていて、100人を人々が、松明を手に山から駆け下り、その炎を次々に鹿曲川へと投げ込みます。さらに、榊の神輿を激しく地面に叩き付け、水を掛け合うなど、祭事は深夜まで続きます。

A traditional fire festival known to represent the Shinano region as an unusual festival.
Registered as a Municipal Intangible Folk Cultural Asset, 100 participants hold torches and run down the mountain and throw the flame into the Kakuma River one by one. And a Mikoshi made of Sakaki (Japanese cleyera) is thrown down to the ground, and participants splash water on each other, and the festival goes on until midnight.
