天平時代に始まり、その後幾多の変遷を経て現在に至っている平塩舞楽は、絶えて久しい京都舞楽の影響を受けていると言われており、地元の人々が受け継ぐ農民舞楽でもあります。舞楽は毎年４月３日の午後１時30分から、例大祭の幟はためく熊野神社境内で始められます。
