天平時代に始まり、その後幾多の変遷を経て現在に至っている平塩舞楽は、絶えて久しい京都舞楽の影響を受けていると言われており、地元の人々が受け継ぐ農民舞楽でもあります。舞楽は毎年４月３日の午後１時30分から、例大祭の幟はためく熊野神社境内で始められます。

It is said that the Heishio Bugaku, which began in the Tempyo period (710-794) and has undergone many changes since then, was influenced by Kyoto Bugaku, which has long since ceased to exist, and is a farmers' bugaku passed down by the local people. The dance begins at 1:30 p.m. on April 3 every year in the precincts of Kumano Shrine, where a banner fluttering in honor of the annual festival is displayed.
