山形市の薬師町にある国分寺薬師堂の祭礼で、400年以上の歴史を持つ。この植木市は、熊本市、大阪市の植木市と並び、三大植木市に数えられ、見上げる程の大きなものなど様々な植木や、色とりどりの花々で賑わう。その他にも、護摩祈祷や大般若転読会、花まつりなどもあわせて行われる。

A festival with a history of over 400 years, held at the Kokubunjiyakushido in Yakushi-machi, Yamagata. The Ueki (potted plant) market is counted as one of the 3 major Ueki Markets in Japan along with the Ueki market in Osaka and Kumamoto, where there are even large potted trees, and various colorful flowers on display. Other than that, there is also a Buddhist fire ritual, reading aloud the Buddhist scriptures, and a flower festival.
