約300年続く日田の夏の伝統行事「祇園祭」。豆田・隈・竹田地区を9基の山鉾が練り歩き、疫病や風水害を祓い、安泰を祈念する行事として親しまれています。「日田祇園の曳山行事」の名称で国の重要無形民俗文化財に指定されています。

The Hita Gion Festival is an annual summer festival that has been held in Hita for over 300 years. 9 floats from the local districts of Mameda, Kuma and Takeda parade around the town to ward off sickness, wind and flood damage, and to pray for peace and safety. The “Hita Gion Float Events” are recognized as an Important Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan.
