宮崎県日向市の美々津町で行われている伝統行事です。
神武天皇が神武東征の際、この地から船出されたという故事にちなんだ祭りで、旧暦「八朔」の夜に子供達が短冊飾りのついた笹を持ち、「起きよ起きよ」と街の家々の戸を叩いて回ります。

This is a traditional event held in Mimitsu, Hyuga, Miyazaki Prefecture. This festival is associated with the history that Jinmu Emperor sailed out to east from Mimitsu-cho. On the night of hassaku on the lunar calendar, children carry bamboo, which has ornaments on, and then go around the houses of the town hitting doors saying “okiyo okiyo” or “wake up, wake up”.
