宮崎県西都市穂北の下水流地区に伝わる踊りで、旧暦８月１日に南方神社などで奉納されれます。文禄・慶長の役の際の加藤清正の戦術が起源とされ、鉦方4人、歌い手4人、踊り手16人で構成され、4組に分かれて縦陣、円陣など隊形を変化させながら躍動的に踊りところが特徴です。選択無形民俗文化財にも選ばれています。

This dance originated from the tactics of Kiyomasa Kato during the Bunroku-Keicho era. The dance has 4 gongs, 4 chanters and 16 dancers, who are divided into 4 groups. It is a dynamic dance as they form circles while changing formation. It was selected as an Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Japan.
