大分県臼杵市の八坂神社で行われる祇園祭で、日田祇園祭、中津祇園と並び、大分の三大祇園祭に数えられます。大分県の無形民俗文化財にも指定されており、「渡御」「還御」では神輿や山車を中心とした2,000人を超える行列が独特のかけ声と共に街を練り歩きます。

This Gion Festival happens in the Yasaka Shrine of Usuki in Oita Prefecture. It is one of the largest Gion Festivals in the region along with Hita Gion Festival and Nakatsu Gion, and is a recognized Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Oita Prefecture. The main attraction is the procession where around 2,000 people parade around the togyo and kangyo portable shrines and floats as they parade around the twon with distinctive shouts.
