九州三大祭の一つで２２日は八代神社から塩屋八幡宮まで下る「お下り」、アーケードなどでは笠鉾やガメの展示、スタンプラリーなどが行われる「御夜」があり、２３日は獅子や笠鉾、亀蛇が参加する神幸行列が「お上り」し、八代駅前や砥﨑河原などで演舞を披露します。

It is considered one of Kyushu's Three Grand Festivals, and on the 22nd a Oroshi event is held where they go down from Yashiro Shrine to Shioyahachimangu Shrine. Kasaboko and Game are exhibited on the streets, and a stamp rally is held at Goya. On the 23rd the shishi and Kasaboko are held, with a Kida taking part in the ritual parade called the Onobori, performing in front of the Yatsuhiro Station and at the Tosakikawara.
