桶川祇園祭りは、江戸時代の元文3年（1738）、中山道の往還にあった市神社の前で行われた祭りから始まったと伝えられている祭り。
神輿や山車が桶川駅前を曳き回し、お囃子なども行われる。

The Okegawa Gion Festival began on 1738 in the Edo period originating from the festival at the city shrine which was on-route along the Nakasendo road. Portable shrines and floats are paraded in front of Okegawa Station with hayashi accompaniments playing traditional music.
