「多古祇園祭」と同日に催される舞。
昭和50年に千葉県無形民俗文化財の指定を受けており、古く天明元年から伝わっている。八坂神社氏子三町から選ばれた十名が猿・獅子・鹿・雨蛙（形により「まんじゅう」とよばれる）の面をつけ、豊作・無病息災・雨乞い等の願いをこめた農民達の素朴な舞です。中でも一番の見所は、10メートルもある「つぐめ柱」での猿（猿の役の若者）の曲芸です。

This is a dance that is held on the same day as Tako’s Gion Festival.
It originated from the start of the Tenmei period (late 1700s), and was designated an Intangible Folk Cultural Property of Chiba Prefecture in 1975. 10 people are chosen from the Yasaka Shrine in Ujiko San-cho, who wear monkey, lion, deer or tree frog masks (which are called ‘manjuu buns’ because of their round shapes). It is a rustic traditional dance performed by rice farmers to wish for better crops, no disasters and rain. The most impressive part is the 10-meter pole which the person playing the monkey climbs up to perform acrobatics.
