山形県は全国有数の豪雪地帯の一つ。雪を活用した様々なお祭りが県内各地で開催されますが、そのオープニングイベントとしてやまがた雪フェスティバルが開催されます。当日は雪像を舞台にしたステージでの豪華アーティストによるライブや県内のおいしい屋台が大集合する「雪見横丁」に加え、雪フェス花火がお祭りを盛大に盛り上げます。他にも様々なイベントが催されます。

Yamagata Prefecture is famous for one of the nation's heavy snowy areas. While various festivals that utilize snow are held in various places in the prefecture, Yamagata Snow Festival is held as an opening event. On that day, in addition to Yukimi Yoko-Cho where live performances by luxurious artists at the snow statue stage set and delicious local food gather together, the snow festival fireworks grandly boost the festival. Various other events will be also held.
