江戸三大祭の筆頭として、さらに京都の祇園祭・大阪の天神祭と共に、日本三大祭に数えられているお祭である。境内では太鼓の音も心地良い、楽しい歌と踊りの納涼大会をはじめとして、江戸時代の伝統芸能である邦楽やお茶、お花など様々な行事が開催される。

This Festival is countered as one of the Three Edo Grand Festivals, and also one of the Three Japanese Grand Festival along with Gion Festival (Kyoto) and Tenjin Festival (Osaka). Pleasant drum sounds in the shrine, and there are many events held such a fun summer evening party of songs and dances, Edo folk entertainments including singing, tea ceremonies and flower arrangements.
