ケンダイという蓑をかぶった若者に手桶から祝いの水をかけ、五穀豊穣と商売繁盛を祈る江戸時代初期から伝わる上山伝統の民俗行事。
上山城をスタートし、市内を練り歩く。その他にも、名物の加勢鳥グルメの販売や、ボランティアによって甘酒が振る舞われる。

A festival where young attendees wear a Kendai cape, and pour water on self with a bucket. This festival, with a history from the Edo period, prays for good harvest and a prosperous business.
Starts from the Kaminoyama Castle into various parts of the city. Aside from the main event, many traditional booths with Kasedori food, and volunteers giving out amazake.
