毎年1月14日、極寒の中、下帯一本の男衆が東西に分かれ、大俵を引き合う会津の冬の風物詩。
東方が勝つとその年の米の値段が上がり、西方が勝つと豊作になると言われている。また、引き手はその一年間無病息災、大俵引き後の豆まきを拾うと一年間福を授かるとも言われている。

Every year on January 14th, in the cold, men with just a loincloth will divide into east and west groups, and pull the large straw bag with a rope.
If the east wins, the price of rice will go up, and if the west wins the harvest will be abundant. It is also said that the men who take part in the festival will have good health for that year. And if they pick up beans after throwing beans during the event, they will have happiness throughout the year.
