初午の日は、商売繁昌、五穀豊穣などのご利益が最も授かるおめでたい日とされています。高橋稲荷神社の初午大祭では、午前10時から午後4時まで、1時間ごとに計7回行われる「福餅まき」が名物となっています。縁起のよい紅白の餅が祈祷殿からまかれ、福にあやかろうとする人々で盛り上がります。中江岩戸神楽や日本舞踊の上演のほか、福もちつきも行われ、約20万人の参拝客で賑わいます。

The day of Hatsuuma is said to be a very joyous celebration day and a day of great luck for good harvest and prosperous business. The Fukumochimaki event, which is held once every hour 7 times from 10 AM to 4 PM on the day of the Hatsuuma Grand Festival of the Takahashi Inari Shrine, has become a special tradition. The good luck red and white mochi are thrown from the prayer giving building, where many people come to take part in the luck giving and become very lively. Besides the Nakaeiwatokagura and Nihonbuyo dance performances, a lucky mochi pounding event is held, and a total of about 200,000 worshipers gather and becomes lively.
