うすき竹宵は、大分県臼杵市で11月の第一土曜日・日曜日に行われる祭です。夕暮れになると、二王座周辺や町八町、港町通りに竹灯篭の明かりが灯り、歩くごとに幻想の世界へと引き込まれます。八坂神社と法音寺の間を練り歩く「般若姫伝説」も大きな見どころです。

The Usukitakeyoi is held on the first Saturday and Sunday of November in Usuki City, Oita-ken. At sundown, lanterns are lit up in the areas around Nioza, Haccho, and Minatomachidori. Walking along pulls you into a world of illusion. The Hannyahime Legend that parades between Yasaka Shrine and Hoonji are very much worth seeing.
