寒気と雪、日本海からの烈風の中、水ごりを取った8町内1事業所の若衆たち約200余名が、白鉢巻、白腰巻に注連を巻き、白足袋にわらじ履きのいでたちで隊列を組み、法螺貝を鳴らして「ジョヤサージョヤサー」の掛け声とともに山頂にある神社を目指し参道をかけあがります。

In the cold, snowy weather and the fierce winds from the Sea of Japan, about 200 or so young men from one business in eight towns and one office, who have taken off their waterlogged clothes, form a formation dressed in white hachimaki, white waistcoats, shimen, white tabi and waraji, and march up the approach to the shrine at the top of the mountain with a conch shell and shouts of "Joya sa joya sa" (Joya, sa joya sa).
