阿波踊り発祥の地である徳島県で行われるお祭りです。人口約26万人の徳島市に全国から延べ135万人の観光客が集まるといわれます。期間中は、街中に阿波おどりのお囃子が響き、踊り子達が街を練り歩きます。

Groups of dancers parade down the streets to the distinctive rhythm of music. The festival held in Tokushima Prefecture where the birthplace of awa dance is. 1.35 million tourists visit Tokushima city from all across Japan to this festival in Tokushima which only has a population of around 260,000.
