にわか祭

「にわか祭」は能登鵜川の地で古くから伝わる漁師の祭礼です。
鵜川の２つの台網（大敷網）である、下の網（海瀬組）と上の網（馬場組）の男たちが、不漁や海難事故が続いたため、海の女神、市杵島姫命（弁財天）を祀る海瀬神社に豊漁、海上安全を祈り、行燈に凛々しい武者の絵を描き威勢よく担ぎ祭神を慰めたことに始まります。
武者絵が描かれた高さ約7ｍ、幅約5．4ｍの「にわか」と呼ばれる大奉燈9基が、鵜川の街中を練り廻り、見卸しの浜に集結したにわかの上で花火が打ち上げられます。
その後にわかは荒々しく練り歩きながら海瀬神社へ移動し、深夜まで勇壮に乱舞します。
This annual festival was begun by fisherman in the old land of Noto Ukawa. 9 niwaka lanterns painted with warriorsm that are 23-feet-tall and 18-feet-wide, are paraded around the town of Kamogawa. People then gather at the Mioroshi beach to view the fireworks display. Everyone is still lively as they move onto Kaize Shrine, and dance heroically deep into the night.
