菅原道真公の誕生を祝してのお祭りで、毎年8月3日から5日の3日間行われます。
夜になると万灯献灯が行われ、1000余のろうそくの明かりが天満宮と参道を照らします。
子ども樽神輿、柔剣道大会、弓道大会、大茶碗お茶会や夫婦円満祈願祭といった神事や、5日には約4000発の花火が夜空へ打ち上げられます。

This festival celebrates the birth of Michizane Sugawara (who was deified as Tenjin and resides in Tenmangu Shrines) and happens every year from August 3rd to 5th. In the evening, the ten thousand lanterns with 1000 candles light up the road to the Tenmangu Shrine. There are children’s portable shrines, judo and kendo tournament, archery tournament, tea ceremonies, couple amicability festival at the shrine. On the 5th, there is a large fireworks display with over 4,000 fireworks.
