大道小俣地区に800年以上もの間受け継がれている全国的にも珍しい笑いの神事です。
21戸の講員が当屋に集まり、神前に供えてある大榊2本を上座と下座に対座する講員に渡し、2人は大声で3度笑いあいます。
笑い声の第1声は今年の豊作を喜んで、第2声は来年の豊作を祈って、第3声は今年苦しかったことや悲しかったことを忘れるために笑います。
このとき、笑い声が小さかったり、不真面目なときは、講の長老は何度でもやり直しをさせます。

The very rare laughing ritual in Japan is inherited in Daido Omata District over 800 years.
Ko members from 21 houses gather at the house on duty, 2 Osakaki (Japanese cleyera) before the altar are passed to the members sitting on the upper and lower seats facing each other, and 2 of them laugh out loud three times.
The first laugh is to rejoice for a good harvest for this year, the second laugh is to pray for a good harvest for next year, and the third laugh is to forget the tough and sad moments for this year.
Elders of the Ko make members do again and again when the laughter was small or lack of seriousness then.
